Thank you so much volunteers.
On Friday 13 June we had our enthusiastic group of volunteers at school again to complete the cleanup of the vege garden. Students from a number of classes helped with the tidying up of the compost area and mulching the spaces between the garden beds. The area looks great now and is ready for classes to plant some vegetables.
Thank you so much volunteers.
Year 6 students and their parents/carers attended a day at the UOW on Wednesday 11 June. Students from all the participating schools met in one of the lecture theatres to hear about university. They then broke up into their groups and went to two sessions. Some of our Year 6 students went to history, nursing and engineering. Everyone met up again at the Sports Hub for lunch. After lunch each school went to a different part of the university for a scavenger hunt. The day finished back at the lecture theatre and then we all returned to school.
The Chicks ‘r’ Us program is at school for the next 2 weeks. Thanks very much to the P & C for this learning experience for our students. Here is a report about them:
Today we went to see the chicks and they were very cute and fluffy. Most of the eggs had hatched and the chirpy chicks were jumping all over each other. We named two chicks Fluffy and Moonlight. The chicks were too young to hold. One had hatched and it was sleepy. I can’t wait to see the chicks again.
Our choir members had a very successful cluster rehearsal on Tuesday 10 June. Both Mrs Morrissey and Miss Calligaro were very proud of the students’ efforts and the positive way in which they represented our school. Claudia H will be singing a solo performance on the night and Brenden B H will be playing the wind chimes for one of the songs.
Tickets for the Wollongong Schools’ Music Festival on Wednesday 24 July are now available for sale from the office. Adults - $15 and school students - $10. Purchase you tickets early to avoid
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who helped in our garden last Friday 6 June, even in the rainy weather! A big thank you to our new parents that got involved last week Mark and Terri. They got muddy, wet and cold but still had smiles on their faces. The garden is looking spectacular and so tidy!
This week our volunteers will be back to help in the garden on Friday between 9:00am - 12:00pm. If you are able to help in our gardens, don't feel like you need to stay for the whole time, you might just like to come for a short while. If you have any old newspapers, buckets or gloves we could use on Friday please bring them into the front office. We appreciate your support.
Thank you. Mrs Byrne
