The Greens and Seeds Community Garden has a new look! At the end of last year there was a competition to decide on a new sign. The winner was Sonja Danecek who is now at Wollongong High School. If you walk past our garden be sure to check out our new sign at the entrance and feel free to join the Green Team (Kids) or Garden Club (Parents) on Thursday at Recess time.

On 15 February our school and two other schools headed to Unanderra pool for the swimming trials. We waited about 25-30 minutes for St Bridgets to finish. We were keen to get started.
At 12 0’clock we set up our things and got straight into the races. The order of the ages in every race went juniors, 11s, seniors. The first race was the 100m freestyle, next up was the 50m breaststroke and then there was 50m freestyle, 50m
backstroke and then 50m butterfly. After that we had a break before the medley. This gave us a chance to get
a drink and have a snack. Then we started the medley. The juniors were first, then the 11s and then came the seniors.
Our school went really well in all the events. Even if we didn’t make it to district we still tried our hardest. Some of us made it to district in either all the events or just the ones that we did well in. We were quiet so that we could hear our events and didn't miss them and our area was nice and clean.
We had a great day at the swimming trials and we all did as best as we could. We had a lot of fun!

Following voting at the House Meetings we congratulate the following students on their new leadership roles:
Emily H and Josephine attended the Little Learning Labs at UOW during the holidays. Emily went to ‘Physics Energisers’ and learned about particles. Josephine went to ‘Let’s learn about Mandarin Chinese’ and learned some Mandarin. Both girls attended 2 days, had a great time and said that they would love to go again and would recommend Little Learning Labs to others.
On Tuesday 9 February, WWPS had their school swimming carnival to decide who was going to the Unanderra Pool to select the team for the district carnival. We started with freestyle, then breaststroke and lastly backstroke. There was a lot of excitement within the school. Booroo, Narara and Dinewan were all cheering for their team members in the races. The new house captains and vice-captains organised cheers and kept their house groups in line.
