50m sprint – in the 50m sprint I came second, tying with Jok. I wish I came 1st but Jacob did. I was so happy that I felt like I was going to EXPLODE! When I was sprinting, Booroo was cheering for me. By Campbell
200m race – On Friday 20 June we did a 200m race. I won 2 events. My friend, Freya came 4th, I came 3rd. It was amazing. I had to run as fast as I could. It was exhausting because it went all day. I used all my energy up from all the running. It went for 6 hours, which is a quarter of a day. I loved it so much. Xanthe came 1st. I really want to thank Mrs Hickey very much. I love my school a lot. I want to do it again and again. By Ava Z
Enrichment Day at WHSPA
On Tuesday 17 June all of the Year 6 students went to WHSPA for their Enrichment Day. On arrival we were put into groups with students from other schools. We all had to wear name tags so that the high school teachers knew our names and also students from the other primary schools.
Each group then went to their first activity. The activities for the day included: cooking, education, visual arts, science and PE. We also got to sit and watch part of a rehearsal for ‘Pirates of Penzance’.
We both enjoyed the science the most. That was because we got to use a Bunsen burner and learn how to turn it on and off. We used the Bunsen burner to heat some metal and when we took it away from the flame itwas as bright as the sun. We also
Year 6 students and their parents/carers attended a day at the UOW on Wednesday 11 June. Students from all the participating schools met in one of the lecture theatres to hear about university. They then broke up into their groups and went to two sessions. Some of our Year 6 students went to history, nursing and engineering. Everyone met up again at the Sports Hub for lunch. After lunch each school went to a different part of the university for a scavenger hunt. The day finished back at the lecture theatre and then we all returned to school.
The next assembly for 2014 will be held on Wednesday 23 July. The class item will be by 2/3D. The leaders for this assembly will be Aedan and Eatag. Parents, carers and family members are always very welcome to attend our assemblies.
By this time of the year students may be running low on class requirements. Please ask your child/ren if they need new pencils, pens, glue etc and replace if required.
Please remember that all belongings that come to school must have student names on them. This assists with the return of the items if they are misplaced.
